We\u2019ve said it a hundred times before but we\u2019ll say it again, our students and staff have a knack for giving back. This year, Don Bisio\u2019s University Prep students came together to raise money and collect gifts and food donations for organizations in their community.<\/p>\n

Holiday Cheer Breakdown<\/h3>\n

\n
• $600<\/strong>\u00a0raised through individual donations.<\/li>\n
• 40<\/strong>\u00a0homeless\/foster youth received gifts using the donations.<\/li>\n
• 150<\/strong>\u00a0canned items were donated to\u00a03<\/strong>\u00a0food banks.<\/li>\n
• 27<\/strong>\u00a0students participated (including\u00a01<\/strong>\u00a0former student).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  After collecting monetary donations from friends, family and Visions staff, the students worked together to choose gifts for kids at the\u00a0Stockton Shelter<\/a>\u00a0and the Lodi and Elk Grove\u00a0Share Homes<\/a>. Gifts included Fisher-Price toys, Shopkins, Legos, art supplies, play sets, gift cards and more.\u00a040 homeless\/foster youth between the ages of 11 months and 17 were overjoyed to receive the thoughtful holiday gifts.<\/strong><\/p>\n

  \u201cThis week I am grateful for the holiday bags we did for the kids! I think it was a great thing that caused a lot of joy to the kids who didn\u2019t have a lot or anything at all this holiday,\u201d one student wrote in her gratitude journal. \u201cThat brings a lot of joy to my life just imagining the big smiles on their faces. It also makes me grateful that I was able to be a part of it. Seeing the pictures that were sent made it even better!\u201d<\/p>\n

  Not only did these rockstar students donate to local shelters but they also\u00a0collected 150 canned items to give to the\u00a0Stockton Community Food Bank<\/a>,\u00a0Galt Sunshine Food Pantry<\/a>\u00a0and the Elk Grove Goodwill!<\/strong><\/p>\n
